Arizona Archives Month 2011
This year's theme for Arizona Archives Month is
"The Way We Were"
Your 2010 Archives Month Poster
We are eagerly awaiting the submissions for this year's poster. Submission deadline is 1 August 2011. As long as your submission is postmarked by 1August we will consider your photographs, documents or maps for inclusion on this year's poster.
Join us and other Arizona repositories in celebrating Arizona Archives Month 2010. The purpose of Archives Month is to celebrate the value of Arizona's historical records, to publicize the many ways these records enrich our lives, to recognize those who maintain our communities' historical records and to increase public awareness of the importance of preserving historical records in repositories, institutions and tribal archives across the state. It's time to enlighten and enliven your communities, and to have some fun.
We are asking you to send photocopies of historical photographs, small maps, letters or other documents in your collections that relate to the theme "The Way We Were." Before we celebrate Arizona's centennial next year, let's remember those places and things that witnessed statehood but will not be around to witness the centennial. These could be significant ideas or places in your community. From the submissions we receive, the Archives Month Steering Committee will then choose seven or more items for inclusion on the Arizona Archives Month poster.
