Biographical Note

Laura Knaperek served in the Arizona State Legislature, from 1995 until 2002, as Representative for District 27, Tempe and Ahwatukee. She served on the following Committees: Appropriations (chair, vice-chair) Government Reform and States’ Rights, Education (vice-chair), Health, Human Services (vice-chair), Children and Family Integrated Delivery Systems (chair). Her papers reflect her interest in health care, education, and children and families. Knaperek was re-elected to the House in 2004.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of files from the office of Representative Laura Knaperek, covering the period from 1996 to 2001. The records deal mostly with the work of the Children and Family Integrated Delivery Systems Committee and Human Services Committee, of which she served as chair and vice-chair, respectively. The folders include agendas, presentation handouts, newspaper and research articles, committee reports, notes, and correspondence. (Copies of some items appear in multiple folders.)
