How to view all the agencies in the database
From the left menu, click on "List of Codes". All Arizona state agencies that have been assigned a code will be displayed in order of Code. Click on the column title to sort by that particular column. All you have to do is simply scroll down to the one for which you need information. You can also use the Ctl+F function to find a particular string of text.
How to print the full list of agencies
From the left menu, click on "Report for Printing". The agency list will open in a new browser window. In
that new window, click File and Print, or you can save it as a PDF if you have the appropriate software.
How to browse by "main" agency
In this database, a main agency is defined as an agency that has been assigned a code number of 1.
For example, TRT 1 is the Arizona Department of Transportation. This is a main agency. TRT 2 is the Administrative Services Division of the Department of Transportation, and is part of that main agency of TRT.
To browse the database by main agency, click on "Browse Agencies" in the left menu. The main agencies will be displayed in order of Code. Click on the column title to sort by that particular column. All you have to do is simply scroll down to the one for which you need information. You can also use the Ctl+F function to find a particular string of text. To view all the codes for a particular main agency, click on the main agency name.
How to search the database
From the left menu, click on "Search". Once the search form is displayed, enter the term or partial term you want to search for, select the field you want to search from the dropdown list, and then click on the 'Go!' button. For example, a search for nurs will find results with both nurse and nursing. Entering multiple terms will not work unless you include multiple terms in the form of a phrase (such as arizona office). Note: Boolean searching is not available. Once you have your search results, click on the column title to sort by that particular column.

The cutter is used after the agency numbers and colon. Cutter on the first significant word; i.e.
Water = W 17, Food = F 55, Pavement = TRT 1.2:P 18, Congestion = TRT 1.2:C 55
If document being cataloged has had the cutter used before at that agency and number, i.e. a 2nd document on traffic congestion, make the 2nd one TRT 1.2:C 55/2; a 2nd one on water would be W 17/2, a 3rd one, W 17/3.
