Collection Policies
Archives should not merely be an attic in which to store "stuff." To that end, each archivial repository needs to have a written collection development policy. Collection development policies clearly detail the policies for determining what types of collections a repository collects. Creating a proper collection development policy is crucial to successful managment of archival collections. While the task may seem daunting, the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) has developed a worksheet to help you plan and create your own collection development policy.
