The Carnegie Center is a symbol of continuity. In an era when so many places look alike, this unique building demonstrates the resilience and viability of its neighborhood.
Today, the Carnegie Center is being returned to its role as a multi-service center that will serve workers and residents in downtown Phoenix and the eastern Capitol Mall.

Programs include:
- ONEBOOKAZ – a state-wide literacy project
- Letters About Literature – a national reading promotion program of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, presented in partnership with Target and the Arizona Center for the Book.
The Carnegie Center serves as a Training Center and offers Meeting Space free of charge to non-profits and state agencies during the work week. Spaces available to be reserved include:
- Open rotunda area
- Small conference room
- Auditorium
- Patio and outdoor area
- Core bibliography of books, articles and websites
- Workshops and discussions on lifelong learning including healthy aging, recareering, civic engagement and resources to help redefine "retirement."
