History Through Newspapers
February 9, 2012
Since 2008, the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records has digitized more than 13 of Arizona's territorial newspapers from a time period of 1859-1922, as part of the National Digital Newspaper Program. Due to grant received in 2008 and 2010, Researchers now have online access to such titles as the Arizona Republican; Arizona Silver Belt; Bisbee Daily Review; Coconino Sun; Graham Guardian; Mohave County Miner; and Tombstone Epitaph. The public can access the digitized newspapers at Chronicling America and the Arizona Digital Newspaper Project website. This project is funded by the National Endowment for Humanities and Library of Congress to provide public access to United States newspapers from 1859-1922. Join Project Manager Yun Carroll to learn more about the project and how to use these websites for genealogical and historical research.
