| This session covers the statutory definition of records and records management, and the reasoning behind a records management program. The requirements of the Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S.) are covered. The role of the Arizona State Archives is also discussed as well as records confidentiality and the commercial use of public records. Also discussed is the creation, interpretation, modification and use of records retention and records disposition schedules. Record series, retention periods, historical records and records series "cut-offs" are explained along with procedures for destroying records. Classes at the Records Management Center include a tour of the facilities. |
