Adult Services

As the human life span expands, people are experiencing longer adulthoods, with an extended stage of midlife. Libraries and other cultural institutions are ideally positioned to become key places for lifelong learning and productive aging for adults.

Under the Transforming Life After 50 Initiative, LDD supports library services that serve and engage adults in learning, staying healthy, re-careering, and becoming civically involved.

Adult Services for the 21st Century: Living Longer, Living Better Summit

Seven library professionals in Arizona have been selected to be part of the Western Regional Fellowship: Transforming Life After 50. These fellows attended a conference in Portland in September 2010 and continue monthly webinars and activities to learn how to engage older adults in libraries.
