Audience: Mid-level to Senior Library Managers
The program will focus on issues that affect all librarians regardless of country. Participation is limited to 15 librarians from Arizona and 15 librarians from countries outside the United States of America. Attendees will:
- Learn cross-cultural communication strategies
- Develop an understanding of librarianship and the world community
- Focus on leadership issues affecting librarians regardless of country
- Build mutually-beneficial global professional relationships

Thinking Outside the Borders: Library Leadership in a World Community is a joint project of the Arizona State Library and the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs at the University of Illinois and the Illinois State Library, USA, funded by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
The program is a "Pre-conference" to Transborder Library Forum 2007 in Tempe, Arizona "Bridging the Digital Divide -- Crossing All Borders" February 20-24, 2007
