Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

"Honoring the Greatest Generation"

Dr. Robert Sutton, Chief Historian of the National Park Service, was the keynote speaker for this year's Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day observance when we "Honored the Greatest Generation."

Dr. Sutton gave the keynote speech at the 66th anniversary Pearl Harbor observance in Hawaii. He previously served on the faculty of the Public History Program at Arizona State University and as Superintendant of the Manassas National Battlefield Park in Virginia.

International Museum Day Celebration

Free admission, free parking and free fun! The Arizona Capitol Museum celebrated International Museum Day.  Visitors explored the Capitol and saw artifacts on special display during the afternoon. They stopped into our award winning store to buy a souvenir, and with each purchase got a free desert print to remember the day.

New Exhibit Opened

Up from the Ashes: Phoenix Goes to Mars

Over 20 photographs highlight The University of Arizona's Phoenix Mars Mission, which landed on the Red Planet in May 2008.  Also on display were scale models of the Phoenix Lander and the scientific instruments on board.  The Phoenix Mars Mission was named after the mythical bird that rises from the ashes of its own fiery death and is born a new.
