Frequently Asked Tour Questions


  1. How long is the guided tour?

    45 minutes in the Museum and 30 minutes in the Legislature. Refer to the Education page for detailed infromation.

  2. What can we do while waiting for our tour time?

    Explore the exhibits not visited during the tour. Visit the Museum Store.

  3. What can we bring?

    Cameras are allowed but food and drink is not permitted in exhibits. Lunches, water bottles, and backpacks can be stored near the Infromation Desk.

  4. Where do we begin?

    The guide will meet you outside by the flagpoles east of the building.

  5. Are chaperones required?

    Yes, 1 chaperone for every 6 students.

  6. What if we are late for our scheduled tour time?

    Being late takes time away from the guided Museum experience.

  7. What is available in the store?

    Refer to the Museum Store page on the museum website for information on Fun Packs and other merchandise.

  8. Where do we park?

    Information on parking and directions are on the Plan Your Visit page on the museum website.

  9. What is the cost?

    Student groups are free.

  10. Where can we eat our lunch?

    Wesley Bolin Plaza across the street.
