The State Records Management Center (RMC) is a custom built records storage facility. It is located just two blocks west of the State Capitol building in Phoenix, Arizona. RMC provides storage for the inactive records of Arizona state agencies.

Records Operations Picture The building is fully sprinkled, and is constructed of fire retardant materials with a 3 hour fire rating throughout the storage area. Intrusion alarms cover the entire building, and security is provided by Capitol Police.

RMC provides records center services
on a fee for service basis including:

Storing of any state agency records approved for storage on the agency's records retention and disposition schedules.

Supplying forms used to transfer records to RMC.

Picking up boxed records from the agencies.

Placing the records onto shelving, and entering indexing information into the bar coded, automated inventory and tracking system.

Supplying the client with lists of records placed into storage.

Retrieving specific files and documents from the stored boxes, using the automated system to track the retrievals.

Re-filing specific files back into the boxes from which they were originally retrieved.

Inter-filing records which were never stored at RMC into boxes of files already in storage.

Destroying records when their retention period has expired. Destruction of confidential records is available for records which need to be shredded.

Vault storing of computer tapes, micrographics masters, imaging system back-up disks and specialized media in a Halon fire protected, climate controlled vault.
